Ryan Morrell (’10) is School’s Newest Eagle Scout |
|
Senior Ryan Morrell of North Park-based Troop 53 is the newest Eagle Scout attending Saints. He recently earned Scouting's highest honor with the help of many other Saintsmen, who assisted him in completing his service project. All Eagle Scouts are required to concept and execute a service project helpful to any religious institution, any school, or the community.
Ryan's community project was to replace the concrete caps on the wall around the perimeter of St. Didacus church and Parish Hall. Assisting Ryan were current Saintsmen and Alums Chris Bernasconi (‘08), Peter Erbes (‘12), Jacob Fulton (‘12), Sam Howeth (‘10), Brendan Kellams (‘07), Paul Maalouf (‘10), Nick Morrell (‘12), Kyle Pocock (‘10), Chad Thompson (‘10) and Evan Suda (‘13).
Capping Achievement—New Eagle Scout Ryan Morrell, a Saints Senior led a team of Saintsmen in replacing wall caps around St. Didacus Church in Normal Heights. Joining him is Fr. Mike Sinor of St. Didacus Parish
Mr. Steve South ('80), President of EDCO Recycling Services donated the use of a recycle bin used during the project.
Ryan joins the ranks of a long list of Eagle Scouts who are attending or have graduated from the school.
Saints Scene suggests a mini-service project for a fledgling Eagle might be to find out exactly how many Saintsmen over the years have earned being an Eagle Scout. No doubt, the list would be quite a distinguished flock. |
