BASEBALL:

Attn: Prospective Baseball players... Tryouts are this Saturday at Saints. You must have all your paperwork and physicals completed, turned in and recorded by Friday at 12 noon to try out. If you have any questions , see coach da Luz. Returning Varsity and upper classmen tryouts start at 11 am, Freshman and Sophomores Tryouts start at 2:30pm. If you have not received clearance to tryout,(i.e. you have not verified that physicals and necessary paperwork have been turned in and recorded, and you have not attended the mandatory meetings to get tryout details, etc.). Please see coach da Luz by Friday at 12 noon. Go to sahs.org/baseball the morning of tryouts to confirm that the weather has not cancelled tryouts. There will be a box on the right-hand side if we are forced to cancel, click it for details. Otherwise assume we are good to go and come ready to compete on Saturday!!!! NO METAL SPIKES FOR TRYOUTS ON CAMPUS – ONLY PLASTIC OR MOLDED CLEATS, IF YOU DON’T HAVE THEM WEAR TURFS OR ATHLETIC SHOES!

CARTOGRAPHY CLUB

Are you interested in maps? Do you want to learn more about the world around us? The Geography and Cartography Club will be meeting on Fridays during lunch, starting this Friday, February 9th, in Room 229, on the second story of Mendel Hall. THE SUPERBOWL IS HERE!

Help Hogar this week by playing either Guess the Winner and Score or SuperBowl Squares. Guess the winner is $5- pick a team and total final score. Closest guess wins. Squares are $10 a square. Winners for squares at end of each quarter and final score. 50% of each game goes to Hogar the rest to the winners. Stop by ASB at Lunch or during HR this week. Cash or card.

DJ BATTLE

DJ Zen isn’t the only DJ on Campus! Be on the lookout for DJ FLO (F L O) performing this week, and DJ Garmo next week. But who will be the surprise DJ? And next Friday, February 16^th is the DJ Battle. Cost is $15 for all Saints and OLP students. If you want to bring a non-OLP student guest pass is $25 limit 1 guest per Saints/OLP student. Doors open at 6 and close at 7. The battle will begin at 7 and a DJ Champion will be crowned at 9. Link is in Pit Bio or scan the QR code on the posters around campus. Dress code is casual.

DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS

Saintsmen, to club members new and old the Dungeons and Dragons club will have a meeting this Friday at lunch in room 420 to talk about the future. If you’re interested in DND and tabletop roleplaying, come to the club meeting. Talk to Andrew Ghannadian

TECH CREW

Are you interested in joining a tech crew for Saints Drama’s production of The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical? Tech crew interviews will take place this Mon 2/12 and Tues 2/13 from 2:30-4:30 in the theater. Please bring your signed parent/student contract and completed questionnaire to have a short interview with our Saints Drama Tech Leadership. JUNIOR FORMAL

The Junior Formal is coming this March! All juniors start looking for a date, the Junior formal will be at Seaworld this year on March 15th. More details to come later this month.

Candy grams for OLP go on sale Thursday this week. Send some candy and an appropriate message to a Pilot. All messages are read by Saints and OLP administration.

HOGAR INFANTIL ORPHANAGE TRIP

Our next trip to Casa Hogar Infantil Orphanage is Saturday, February 10th! There are limited seats in the Saints van, and they will be filled first come, first serve, based on when your permission slip is turned in to campus ministry. We will meet at Saints at 1PM and drive to the orphanage from there. We will stop for tacos and return between 6-7pm depending on border line wait times. If you live in Tijuana or just want to meet us there, let Mrs. Brophy know. You must have a valid passport to attend. Stop by campus ministry and pick up a permission slip or contact Mrs. Brophy for more information!

THEATER

Saintsmen, it’s almost course selection time: are you looking for great classes to earn your arts credit?

Announcing the triumphant return of Mr. Blumer’s Technical Theater class for the 24-25 school year. Tech Theater offers hands-on experience in the building and design aspects that occur behind-the-scenes in live performance. Tech students learn the basics of power tools, paint, light, and sound design in our theater facility and scene shop.

Are you more interested in being on stage and hearing the applause? Have you had to meet with Mr. O’Beirne because you crack too many jokes in class? Take Mr. Blumer’s Theatre Arts performance class to learn the basics of acting, play improv comedy games, and earn course credit for cracking jokes!
