Saints’ Futbol continues to roll
Currently ranked third in the County, second place in Division 1 and first place in its Conference with a record of 10-3-1, the Saints soccer squad has definitely proven they are out to continue its dominant success in the Southern California soccer world. Most recently, they handily took down its Conference rival University City by a score of 4-1. No doubt sweet revenge since UC beat Saints in last year’s CIF finals on tie-breaking penalty goals. Saints has also shown its prowess against statewide powerhouses by beating the likes of Mater Dei (Santa Ana), St. John Bosco (Bellflower) and De La Salle (Concord). Over the Christmas break Saints found success in two tournaments including the North County Inland Invitational where they made it to the finals barely losing on penalty kicks against #1 ranked Westview high school. It also made it to the semi-finals in the Nike Southern California Classic tournament held in Oceanside.
