Welcome to Campus Ministry at St. Augustine High School! Our department is committed to providing all Saints students with the opportunity for spiritual growth and reflection. Founded in the principles set forth by St. Augustine of Hippo, all students learn to embrace the core values of Community, Truth, and Love. It is this set of core values that informs the spiritual journey the young men at Saints will take during their high school career.
While attending Saints, students will be given ample opportunities to participate in retreats, student-led weekly liturgies, and Christian service. By immersing themselves in Campus Ministry, Saints students are answering their baptismal call to participate fully and actively in their Christian faith.
Saints students participate in the Christian Service program by completing at least 25 hours of Christian Service each academic year. The Campus Ministry office will offer numerous opportunities throughout the year for students to volunteer their time and talents on behalf of the Saints community. Christian Service is a cornerstone of the students’ experience at Saints and all Saintsmen are encouraged to be creative when selecting their service location. The faculty and administration fully support the Christian Service program, and will often attend service projects with the students.
The retreat program at Saints is also an integral component of each student’s spiritual development. Each class participates in a retreat with specific themes and goals, with the senior class being given the option of attending KAIROS before graduating. Retreats are student-led and driven, with an emphasis on unity, integrity, and fellowship. Often graduating seniors reflect on their retreat experiences as their most influential moments at Saints.
The purpose of Campus Ministry is to commit ourselves to the spiritual development of the young men who enter Saints. It is our goal to create an environment that compels Saintsmen to continue practicing their faith in a way that reflects Augustinian values upon graduating.
We invite all Saints students to stop by the Campus Ministry office and introduce themselves, as well as offer any suggestions they may have which might enhance their experience at Saints. We look forward to the upcoming year!
