The Saints Rugby program offers Varsity and Junior Varsity rugby for the students. The Saints play in the high school league governed by Southern California Youth Rugby. The Saints play in the southern division and compete against other local high schools. The Saints completed their first year of high school rugby last season and are currently in the second season. The high school league has grown from 8 teams
to 17 teams. Students are eligible to earn a varsity letter if they meet the criteria submitted to the Athletic Department.
The Saints rugby program has a team of coaches who are committed to providing a quality rugby experience for the Saintsmen. The club conducts an off season work-out routine which includes strength training and conditioning four days a week. In season, the Saints rugby team works out in the gym twice and week and practices three times a week. Games take place on Saturday. Over 75 students have taken the challenge and are playing rugby for St. Augustine.The Saints Rugby program has high expectations for all of our student athletes. All rugby players are expected to model the school values of TRUTH, LOVE, and COMMUNITY. Playing rugby at Saints is an opportunity to live and experience these values.
